Teaching objectives:
1.    words and phrase: parent  rode  horse  climb

           Where is ________?

C:New concept:
Step1  Show some beautiful pictures.
Show the pictures to the Ss.Have the Ss enjoy and remember them.
Then ask the Ss guess where did lingling go and what did she visit and climb.
Step2  On the screen /blackboard
Show north at the top, south at the bottom,
      west on the left , east on the right .
 Show a map of China on the screen and ask:
Where is Beijing/ Hainan/ Xinjiang/Shanghai ?
It is in the north of China.
It is in the south of China.
It is in the west of China.
It is in the east of China.
Practice:
Have the Ss talk about their holiday,Where did they go and describe where the place is. if you don’t go anywhere, you can imagine.
Step3  Text
Let have the Ss open their books and listen and read, then answer the following questions:
1.    When did lingling go to Xingjiang ?
2.    Where is Xinjiang ?
3.    Which Mountain did lingling climb ?
4.    Which lake did lingling visit ?
5.    Did she have a good time ?
At last give the answers to the Ss
Keys:    1.In July.
         2.In the west of China.
         3.The Tianshan Mountain.
         4.The Tianchi  Lake.
         5.Yes, she did.
Step4: listen and repeat again ,then read the passage together..
Step5:
Home work :
1.    Talk about your travel with your deskmate and write down your exersice book.
2.    Read the passage twice after class .
